Ginger
Ginger has been cultivated for thousands of years for use as a spice and herbal medicinal purposes. Nigeria is among the major producers and exporters of ginger in the world. 90% of ginger produced in Nigeria is dried primarily for export while 10% is locally consumed. Nigeria’s ginger is highly valued for its aroma, pungency, high oil, and oleoresin content. Nigeria is the largest producer and exporter of ginger in Africa and we are able to produce and export several forms and varieties of ginger. These include fresh, dried-split and crushed.
Over the years, ginger production in Nigeria has increased steadily despite economic, social and security challenges. As an organisation, we foresee sustained trend of the steady rise in production in the nearest future. This guarantees our supply projections. We work with over 200 local farmers providing technical support in form of training, financing and other inputs such as organic fertilizers and manure. They also rely on us as off takers of their ginger and a source of stability for their income and cashflow. Maintaining this formidable network has helped us secure a stable market share and maintain a steady and reliable supply to all our partners. So, we are able to guarantee 10,000 metric tonnes per annum, Grade A Cleaned, dried and export standard ginger.
